Took me 3 hours to figure out why split screen kept breaking on my living room setup
Me and my roommate tried to play Halo 3 splitscreen last weekend like we used to back in high school, and the screen kept shifting so one side was cut off. Turned out the TV's aspect ratio was set to zoom instead of native, and the console was outputting 720p so the game was squeezing everything weird. We messed with cables and swapped controllers for like 2 hours before my roommate's girlfriend walked in and fixed it in 30 seconds by hitting the picture size button on the remote. Kinda funny how the old days we just plugged in and it worked, but now there's 40 menu options stacked on top of each other. Took us 3 hours total for something that should've been a one minute fix. Does anyone else have a TV that fights splitscreen mode like this, or is it just our cheap set from Costco?
