Clear cable box finally fixed my drawer of doom

I saw a post last week about someone using a clear plastic shoe box for console cables, and I figured it was too simple to matter. My drawer had a knot of old HDMI cords, a dead controller charger, and three USB cables I was sure were cursed. I dumped everything out, untangled the worst two, and coiled each cord with a twist tie like they do at the store. Now each cable gets its own slot in the box, labeled with a piece of masking tape and a sharpie. It took about 20 minutes and cost nothing extra since I had the box already. My drawer still closes, which is more than I could say before. Has anyone tried those velcro strips instead of twist ties, or is that just asking for a new tangle next month?
