I actually think stacking games horizontally is way better than vertical

I was reorganizing my shelves last month in my apartment near the downtown area, and I had a stack of about 20 PS4 games fall over because I had them standing upright like everyone says to do. The cases popped open and one disc got scratched pretty bad. I spent like two hours testing if it still worked after that. Honestly, I started stacking them flat in piles of five or six and it saves so much space because I can use the top of the stack for smaller collectibles. I know people argue it's harder to pull a game from the bottom, but I just rotate the pile every few weeks so I'm not always digging for the same one. Has anyone else had a similar blowout with vertical storage or am I the odd one out here?

My flat stack of 15 Switch games slid off the nightstand last week... total chaos.

Man, "total chaos" is the perfect way to describe it. I've been there with my own game cases and it's like a domino effect you can't stop. Best thing I ever did was grab a little plastic bin from the dollar store and just stack them in there sideways, like books on a shelf. Keeps them from sliding around and makes it way easier to grab whichever one you want without wrecking the pile. Have you tried something like that?
