From my cab, I used to hate the new anti-two-block alarms

I saw them as just another beeping nuisance that would slow me down on tight schedules. After a quick hoist on a windy day where I got distracted, that alarm screaming saved my rig from a nasty shock load. Now I won't even start the engine without verifying it's working, it's that important. Changed my mind from annoyance to absolute reliance on that piece of tech.

Yeah, I've mashed that reset button more times than I'd admit.

That monthly clean is a game changer. Found a spider web in the sensor last fall that set off a wild false alarm. Took me twenty minutes to get it reset because I had to dig the manual out of the junk drawer. Now I keep it in the toolbox. A quick test and a clean saves so much hassle later.

Totally agree. Once you see how it saves your gear, you never skip the check. I test the alarm before every lift, even if it's just a quick button press. Dust and weather can mess with the sensor, so a monthly clean with compressed air keeps it reliable. Keep the manual handy too, because the reset can be tricky after a false alarm.
