Had a real tricky lift yesterday with a 30-foot I-beam in a tight alley
Couldn't get the swing right until I tried a two-part tagline setup, which gave me way more control. Anyone else use that method for close-quarter picks?

Honestly I've seen that two part setup go wrong more than it helps. On a job last summer a guy tried it with a steel column and the second line got tangled on a fire escape. We lost half a day sorting that mess out. Sometimes more gear just means more things that can snag. I'd rather take the time to set a perfect single line pick from the start.

Always thought a single line was the cleanest way to run it. Watched a guy do the two-part setup on a hospital job last year, and it completely changed my mind. You get that extra bit of finesse when you really need to creep something into place. Makes a huge difference when the walls are basically right there.

Read an article once that argued the two-part system is basically a different tool for a different job. It's not about replacing a single line, it's for those tight spots where you need that slow, controlled feed. Makes sense if you're working in a confined space like that hospital.
