I started doing a 30 second walk around the counterweight before every lift, and it caught a loose pin on a Grove last Tuesday
I used to skip the walk around when the crew was rushing me, and I figured a quick glance was good enough. Last Tuesday at a job site off Route 59 near Plainfield, I made myself do the full loop anyway and spotted a pin walking out of the counterweight. It probably would have held for the morning, but I called it out and we shut down for 20 minutes to fix it right. Now I do the same loop every time, even when the foreman is waving at me to hurry. Curious how many of you do a set path like that, or do you just eyeball it and go?
