My roommate's side of the living room went from a plastic bin to a full shelf in 3 weeks
My roommate Dave moved in back in March with basically nothing but a duffel bag and one of those clear plastic bins you get at Target. For the first month his whole life sat in that bin next to the couch, and I started to feel bad for the guy. Then one Saturday he came home with a little IKEA shelf and a screwdriver, and I figured it would just sit in the box for a month like most of his plans. Nope. Within a week the shelf was up, and the bin was empty. Then came a lamp, a plant, a stack of paperbacks, and a framed photo of his dog. By the end of week three his corner looked like a real room while mine still looks like I just moved in. Turns out he had been saving up for furniture the whole time and was just too proud to say it. Now I'm the one with the sad plastic bin. Did your roommate ever quietly out-adult you like that?
