Saw a college kid in Kalamazoo use a laundry basket as a nightstand and it got me thinking about my own weird setup
I crashed at my buddy's place near Western Michigan University last week and his roommate had the wildest "furniture" I have ever seen. The guy took a plastic laundry basket, flipped it upside down, put a textbook on top, and called it a nightstand. It held a lamp, a phone charger, and a half empty water bottle without tipping over once. I laughed at first but then I realized my own setup back home is a stack of milk crates I stole from behind a grocery store in 2019. Honestly his basket looked more stable than my crates, which wobble every time I set my alarm clock down. Now I'm wondering if I should copy his idea or if that's just too sad for a grown adult. Has anyone else had a roommate with furniture made from stuff that was definitely not meant to be furniture?
