Update: caught my roommate unplugging the fridge at night to save power, and I finally get why
For three weeks I kept finding the fridge off in the morning and thought the outlet was bad. Turns out my roommate Dave was pulling the plug at 11pm because he read somewhere it saves $8 a month, and our milk went bad twice. I showed him the actual number on our bill in Boise, about $14 for the whole fridge for the month, so he stopped. Has anyone else had a roommate try to save money in a way that costs more than it saves?
