DAE try the 'no adjectives for one page' prompt and end up with a robot narrator?
I gave this prompt a shot last Tuesday, wrote a whole page of a diner scene without using any adjectives. The first paragraph came out fine, but by the third paragraph my characters were just saying lines back and forth like a manual. My buddy Dave read it and said it sounded like a kitchen manual, not a story. I learned that cutting one part of speech forces you to lean hard on verbs, and now I want to try the opposite prompt (only adjectives, no verbs) just to see what breaks. Has anyone else run this one and found a way to keep the voice from going flat?
