Just realized our Wednesday prompt group went from 3 paragraphs to 1 line in about 6 weeks
When we started back in January everyone wrote long, messy scenes for each prompt, usually 3 or 4 paragraphs with real dialogue. Around week 6 people started posting faster and shorter, just one line answers like they were racing to get it done before bed. I think the culprit is that we added a 10 minute timer and a shared doc, so folks see the doc filling up and stop early so they don't feel behind. We went from about 900 words per person to maybe 120, and the prompts themselves get way less room to breathe now. Did anyone else notice their group speeding up after adding a timer, and did you drop the timer or keep it?
