Three weeks of silent walks until a stranger's beagle taught my husky to stop screaming at squirrels
I got my husky from a rescue 4 months ago and she would lose it on every walk, like full screaming crying at any squirrel or bird. Tried training treats, loud clickers, even a prong collar which I hated. Then last Saturday this older guy with a calm beagle just stopped and said "let them sniff each other," and after 10 minutes of butt sniffing my dog started matching the beagle's chill pace. Now I do a meet-and-greet with that beagle before our route down by the old railroad tracks and she's 70% calmer. Anyone else's dog pick up good habits from another dog faster than from any human training?
