Update: my smart plug showed me my coffee maker's dark secret
I set my smart plug to track energy use last Tuesday and found my old coffee maker pulls 14 watts just sitting there in standby, which adds up to about 15 bucks a year. I've had it for 4 years and never thought to check the idle draw until the app broke it down by device. Has anyone else found a sneaky power drain hiding in their kitchen that ended up being worse than the main appliance?
