500 Instagram posts later my food truck found its actual crowd
I used to think posting daily specials was enough, but after hitting 500 posts in 4 months I noticed my taco nights brought in triple the crowd of burger nights. Ended up shifting my whole menu around what the data showed, not what I liked cooking. Has anyone else seen a random menu item totally outperform their favorite dish?
Your taco nights tripled the crowd" is cool data, for sure. But in my experience, leaning too hard on what the numbers say can make the menu boring real fast. I've seen places chase the one hit item and then the regulars get tired of it, and suddenly you're stuck with a crowd that only shows up for that one night. Maybe keep the tacos but don't scrap the burgers entirely, you might just be hitting a season or a weather thing. Your mileage may vary, but I'd hold onto what you love cooking too, even if it's not the top seller.
