My epoxy floor lifted after 8 months - what a mess

I poured a high-end epoxy coating over my garage floor back in March and it looked amazing. Fast forward to last week and I found a 3 foot bubble near the workbench that peeled right up. Turns out I didn't grind the concrete enough before applying and moisture was trapped underneath. Now I'm looking at a full strip and redo that's gonna cost me around $600 in materials alone. Any of you guys run into this with your own floors or did I just pick the wrong prep method?

Hold up, $600 for a full redo? That's brutal, especially since it looked so good at first. Moisture trapping is such a sneaky way for a floor to fail, no wonder you're frustrated.

Yeah that's rough... $600 stings. @faithg26 I've seen moisture issues crop up under engineered floors a lot more than people think. Best thing you can do before reinstalling anything is run a fan over that subfloor for a few days to really dry it out. Might also want to put down a vapor barrier rated for the specific subfloor type, not just the cheap plastic stuff from the hardware store.
