Found a pallet of old PS2s at a recycling center in Toledo last week
I was dropping off some e-waste and noticed a whole stack of PS2 slim models just sitting in a bin. About 15 of them, all with the disc drive covers missing and some serious dust caked on. Before I could ask, a worker told me they get these all the time and just crush them for scrap metal. Has anyone else seen good consoles getting tossed like that?
@the_thomas is right about the disc drive covers, but they actually weren't glued on until the very late model slims - most of the early ones just had them snap into place. Just saying because it changes how easy those units are to restore if they're the older revision. Either way, crushing fifteen working PS2s for scrap metal still feels like a waste.
