The backyard bird nest that changed how I see scrap lumber

I was cleaning up after a cedar fence job and spotted a nest in the wood scraps. It honestly made me pause and think. We always just haul off or shred all that leftover material. Now I leave a small pile of decent pieces in a corner for animals to use. Bugs and birds move in fast, which is pretty neat. It cuts down on waste and adds a bit of life to the yard. Maybe more of us should give it a shot on our jobs.

Try leaving cedar scraps, they resist rot naturally.

Your cedar scraps tip is spot on, mine lasted all winter outside.
