Switched from straps to clipless pedals on my Kilo TT last month

I used to run basic nylon toe straps on my stock pedals for about 3 years. Got tired of cinching them down every ride, especially in stop-and-go traffic around downtown Austin. Finally swapped to some used Shimano PD-M520s I found for $30 at a co-op. Has anyone else made this switch and regretted losing the ability to wear regular shoes?

$30 for M520s is insane, those things are practically bulletproof.

My first week clipless I nearly tipped over at a red light on South Congress because I forgot to unclip. But honestly that tradeoff of not having to stop and tighten straps every few blocks makes downtown riding way smoother. Three years of those cinch downs and your brain just rewires to accept the annoyance as normal until you finally ditch it.
