Looked sad" is such a weird way to describe flowers. I mean, they're roses, not a moody teenager. I'd just be stuck on how someone even picks that word.

Ever think we give human traits to things all the time? A wilted rose with drooping petals and faded color totally gives off a sad vibe. It's just a descriptive way to talk about how something looks.
