My dad caught me eating cold meatloaf at 3am once...

I was about 14 years old, sneaking into the fridge around 3 in the morning after a sleepover. My dad came down for water and just stood there watching me eat leftover meatloaf with my bare hands. He didn't get mad or anything. He just said "you know that's better with ketchup" and grabbed the bottle from the door. Then he sat down at the kitchen table and we both ate cold meatloaf with ketchup in total silence. That moment stuck with me because he never judged me for being weird at 3am. Now I'm 32 and I still think about that whenever I raid the fridge late at night. Has anyone else had a parent just roll with your weird fridge habits instead of getting on your case?

Oh man, that story really got me. I had a friend in high school who went through something similar with his mom. He was like 16 and got caught eating an entire block of cheddar cheese and saltines at like 2am after coming home from a party. His mom came downstairs, looked at him for a second, then just grabbed the pepper jack from the fridge and joined him without saying a word. They sat there for twenty minutes just munching cheese and crackers like it was the most normal thing in the world. He told me that was the moment he realized his mom understood him in a way he never really appreciated before. It's funny how those little non-judgmental moments can stick with you for decades.
