Spent 30 hours in Skyrim before realizing I could sprint by holding down the left bumper

I kept walking everywhere, even from bandits, and wondered why I was dying so much until a friend watched me play and asked why I wasn't running, has anyone else missed a basic control for that long?

Oh man, that's rough, I feel your pain! I did something similar in my first playthrough of The Witcher 3 where I didn't know you could dodge roll, so I just tanked hits from everything and constantly chugged food. It's like the game never really tells you about half the controls, especially on console. I bet you were cursing those bandits and thinking Skyrim was just super hard for no reason. At least now you can actually escape fights and outrun bears, which is a game changer for sure!
