Can we talk about that viral 'cold perm' technique?

I followed a tutorial from a stylist in Austin and used a specific brand of foam rods on a client's fine hair, expecting soft waves. It came out way too tight, almost like a 90s spiral perm. I had to do a corrective treatment the same day to relax it. What's the biggest perm fail you've had to fix?

Oh, that brings back a memory I'd rather forget. My biggest fail was trying to give a client a body wave and leaving the solution on a bit too long. It turned her hair into something resembling a brillo pad, completely fried. I had to cut off more length than either of us wanted. Let's just say I got very good at deep conditioning treatments after that one.

Did you have to comp the whole service or just the fix?

Those tight spirals are back in style now, maybe you just got ahead of the trend.
