When a guest thought my coat closet was the bathroom
During a party at my place, a friend got mixed up and walked into the coat closet looking for the restroom. All my jackets ended up on the floor, and it was pretty funny. What do you do to help guests know where stuff is in your home?

Just put a sign on the door, man. A simple "coats" or even a drawing of a jacket works. Otherwise you get people hiding in there thinking it's the toilet, and then you have to wash all your coats because someone got nervous. I also leave the actual bathroom door wide open with the light on so it's obvious.

Wait, @the_richard... you actually had to wash every single coat? That’s so much worse than I pictured... I figured maybe one jacket got wrecked, but the whole closet? The cleanup must have been unreal. The sign idea is smart, but yeah, it's wild that it even needs to be a thing. Did you just throw the coats out or what?

@the_richard, you actually had to wash all your coats because someone thought the closet was a toilet? That is so messed up on so many levels. I can't imagine the smell or the cleanup you had to deal with. Your sign idea is smart, but it's crazy that it even needs to be said. People really need to pay more attention to doors before they just walk in. I'd be furious if that happened at my place, coats aren't cheap to clean.
