Vent: My neighbor's comment about my garage organization hit weird
Saw Frank from two doors over looking at my pile of extension cords and he goes 'you know they make ties for those, right?' in that tone. Made me feel like a slob for an hour til I realized the dude has a garage so clean he parks his Corvette in it. Anyone else had a random comment from someone that made you rethink your whole setup?
Well Frank sounds like he has a Corvette and a perfect garage, which is fine if that's his thing. I always figure a garage that's too clean means nobody's actually building or fixing anything in there. My own garage is a disaster zone, extension cords everywhere like dead snakes, and I've got a 20 year old truck that actually runs because I can find the tools under the mess. The cords are tangled up in a way that would probably make Frank's heart stop, but I know exactly which one to grab for the hedge trimmer. I'd rather have a working truck and a messy garage than a spotless Corvette that never gets driven. Frank can keep his ties, I'll keep my functional chaos.
oh man this reminds me of my friend Jenna, she's got this super organized spice rack in her kitchen, like little labels and everything, and her neighbor came over one time and was like "you alphabetized by color or something?" in this real snotty way. she was so mad she almost threw out the whole rack, but now she just laughs about it and says the neighbor's house smells like old socks so who's really winning here. Frank can take his tidy extension cords and drive them straight to a car show where nobody's gonna touch anything, honestly. i bet that Corvette's never even seen a puddle.
