That client who said 'just post more' when our engagement was tanking

A client told me six months ago to just double our posting frequency on Instagram and that would fix everything. I thought they were clueless, but I gave in because they were paying the bills. Turns out our reach actually went up by like 40% and we got like 3 new leads from it. Has anyone else had a client give advice that sounds dumb but actually works?

I mean, @leohart's bakery story is cute and all, but I still feel like most of the time "just post more" is lazy advice. Sure, it worked for you and that bakery, but that's probably because you were already putting out decent content and just needed more shots on goal. I've seen people double down on bad posting strategies and it just made people mute them faster. Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't bank on that being a repeatable strategy for everyone.

My friend had this happen with a bakery client. They swore posting at 3am when fresh bread came out would bomb but the early morning crowd ate it up and sales actually went up. Weirdest thing too.
