Last Tuesday I parked in what everyone calls the cursed spot near the dumpster and came back to zero scratches, no cart dings, and even a clean windshield
My coworker Janice warned me against that space because three people got their bumpers keyed there last month, but I got lucky somehow and now I'm wondering if the legend is just overblown drama from bad parallel parking, has anyone else had a weirdly good experience in a spot everyone avoids?

You ever notice how people treat certain spots like they're cursed just because of a few bad stories? That parking space is probably fine, but now everyone's scared of it and the legend just grows bigger. Same thing happens with the blender at work that supposedly explodes, or that one gas pump that "always steals your money." We let a couple of bad experiences turn into whole seasons of lore. Meanwhile, you park there once and get a clean windshield, but nobody wants to hear that because it breaks the drama. People love a good warning story more than they love the truth.

Last Tuesday I drove my wife's sedan into that exact dumpster spot at the Kroger on Third Street and came back to find a twenty dollar bill tucked under my wiper blade. Five different people had told me to avoid it, said it was a magnet for shopping carts and bird droppings, but I've been parking there for three years now on late shifts and never had a single issue. The trick is to back in so your passenger side is tight against the dumpster, keeps the door dings away and gives you a clean exit. That whole curse thing is just people not paying attention to how they park or leaving loose trash on their seats that attracts the birds. Next time you see that spot open, take it and just check your mirrors before you walk away.
