My corgi's newfound obsession with herding the vacuum cleaner has me at my wit's end...

I thought I had her distraction training down pat, but now every time I clean, she darts around barking and nipping at the wheels... It's turned a simple chore into a twenty-minute ordeal of trying to redirect her energy. I've tried treats, clickers, even a separate 'place' command, but the vacuum is just too irresistible. Starting to wonder if I should just embrace the chaos and let her 'help'...

My friend's sheltie had the exact same issue with their roomba. It would park itself in front of it, herding it into corners with sharp, excited barks. They ended up putting a small bandana on the roomba so the dog thought it was part of the 'pack' during cleanup time. The barking lessened, but she still supervises every session with intense focus.

Oh man, @the_jennifer, your friend's solution is pretty clever (and kinda cute). My dog would probably try to herd the thing too, honestly. I'm not sure a bandana would fool him, but it's worth a shot!

Maybe just declare the vacuum her herding assistant?
