Hot take: putting pineapple on before the cheese saved my pizza from being a soggy mess
Last week I made a homemade pizza and the toppings kept sliding off and the middle was basically soup. I was so mad. Then my neighbor saw me complaining about it on the porch and said I should put the pineapple (and other wet stuff like mushrooms) under the cheese instead of on top. It traps the moisture and keeps the crust from getting ruined. Tried it on Friday night and it actually worked way better. Anyone else do their toppings in a weird order like this?

I saw a food science video once that explained why this actually makes sense. They said putting wet toppings under the cheese lets the cheese act like a lid, trapping steam so the moisture stays in and doesn't soak the crust. It basically creates a barrier. I tried it with mushrooms and zucchini last weekend and the bottom of my pizza was actually crispy for once. Usually I end up with a floppy slice that falls apart halfway through eating. Yours is a good tip, honestly.

6 years running pizza nights at my house, @michael519, and that trick finally fixed my soggy pepperoni problem.
