I finally got kicked out of my spot at the airport observation deck
Was at Kansas City International last Saturday, settled in at my usual corner near the east end of the terminal. Had my camera and notebook out, ready to catch the 3:45 PM Delta A321 coming in. Some security guard came up and told me I couldn't stand there anymore because 'it's a restricted area for employees only.' I've been going to that same spot for 2 years and never had a problem before. I packed up and walked over to the parking garage roof instead, but the view is way worse with all the light poles in the way. Has anyone else had their go-to spotting spot suddenly taken away without warning?

Wait, they just walked up and told you that after 2 years? That's wild, I can't believe they let you build up a routine like that only to pull the rug out.

You know, I gotta admit, I used to be one of those people who thought "eh, it's just a game, it's not that deep." Like I figured people complaining about losing access to their accounts or something were just being dramatic. But then this exact thing happened to a buddy of mine with his fishing club membership. He'd been going to the same spot every Saturday for almost three years, knew all the regulars, had his little routine down. Then out of the blue the club changed the rules and he couldn't get in anymore unless he paid triple. Totally changed my mind on how much that kind of stability matters to people. It's not about the money or the thing itself, it's about the rhythm you build into your life. When someone just yanks that away after you've made it part of your week for years, it messes with you more than you'd think. I get it now.
