The debate on replacing cartridge save batteries - solder or tape?
I got an original Zelda cart last month and the save kept wiping after 10 minutes. I used electrical tape to hold a new CR2032 in place like some forums say, but a buddy swears soldering is the only way to get a solid connection for more than a few months. Which method holds up better for the long haul, anyone have failures with one over the other?

Used to swear by tape but soldering finally made my Zelda save last over a year now.

...actually I've had way better luck with tape than soldering long term. The heat from soldering can crack those old battery contacts on the board if you're not careful and then you're really screwed. I had a Pokemon Gold cart that held on tape for like 3 years before I even had to change it again, so I don't get the hate.
