That $2 Bing Crosby record I skipped over for months turned out to be a rare pressing from 1948

I kept seeing this beat-up Bing Crosby Christmas album at my local Goodwill in Portland for like 4 months straight, figured it was just the usual cheap junk. Finally grabbed it out of boredom and noticed the label was different from the normal reissues. Looked it up and it's a first pressing on Decca that goes for around $80 on Discogs. Anyone else ever passed on something a million times only to find out it was actually valuable?

That Bing Crosby story is basically how life works, we ignore the boring stuff right in front of us because we're all trained to look for shiny new things.

Oh man, you nailed it. I had a similar thing happen with my old guitar. I spent years chasing after that new amp or fancy pedal, thinking that's what I needed to sound better.
