My hike to a fire lookout showed me the value of clear sight lines in dial design.
I climbed up to an old fire lookout tower on my vacation. The way the ranger scanned the horizon made me think about how watch dials need to be readable at a glance. What everyday sights influence your work?

That fire lookout scan, what detail shaped your watch face?

Actually saw that scan online last week. The way they marked the smoke columns on the map really stuck with me. It's a simple shape but says a lot about watching and waiting. Makes you think about the person up there just looking for that first sign. Kind of a quiet job until it isn't, you know? Puts the whole day in your wrist with just a circle and a line, like looking through binoculars.

Has a friend ever described the moment they spotted something? My buddy worked a summer in a tower and said he'd draw tiny circles on his notepad for hours, then one day his hand shook making the line. He kept that page, said it was the only time his watch felt heavy.
