inShowerthought: Is a surface-supplied rig always better than going scuba on a job?
and its the same kinda thing i see everywhere honestly. like my buddy who refuses to use a cordless drill for anything cause he got shocked once 20 years ago, even though the new battery stuff is totally fine and way faster. old timers get stuck on what worked for them and forget that the newer tools have their own place too. for a quick 20 ft job with good viz and a buddy who actually watches your back, scuba is totally fine. but if im doing something sketchy like working under a dock or in current, yeah id want the hose and comms everytime, just like id take a corded sawsall over a battery one if i gotta cut all day.

inSwitched from gas to induction cooktop last month and I'm kicking myself for waiting
the difference in indoor air quality is NUTS" - cmon man, is it really that nuts though? I switched from gas to induction a couple years back and honestly I barely noticed any change in how the air felt or smelled. Maybe your old gas stove was leaking or something? My house still gets stuffy when I cook bacon or sear a steak, so I dunno if the cooktop itself is the magic bullet you're making it out to be. Also that 60% PM2.5 drop sounds like a big number but those cheap air quality monitors are kinda sketchy. I tested mine with a candle once and it went bonkers. Not saying induction is bad or anything, it's fine, but I think people get a little dramatic about the "life changing" stuff. Boiling water faster is cool though, I'll give you that.

inBoom truck vs crawler on a mud site - picked wrong
Man youre telling me. I learned that one the hard way on a site in Wayne. Now I keep a set of those snap-on tracks for my boom truck just for mud season. Adds an hour to setup but beats a tow bill every time.

inBarista buddy said my tamp was too light for 3 years
Funny enough, I did the same thing when I first got a real espresso machine. I was cranking down on that tamper like I was trying to crush a rock, thinking more force meant better coffee. Turned out I was tamping at about 35 pounds but at a slight angle, and my shots were all over the place. A buddy of mine who works at a local shop watched me do it once and just laughed. He showed me how to keep my wrist straight and go for a light, even press instead of trying to muscle it. Now I aim for maybe 25 pounds and my crema is way more consistent.
