Had a derailleur hanger tool for 2 years before I realized it had a built-in alignment gauge

wait hold on, that little arm isn't actually an alignment gauge in the way you're thinking. most hanger tools have a little tab that just shows if the hanger is straight relative to the tool's own body, but it doesn't measure alignment against the frame or dropout. you still need to double check with a proper gauge or at least look down the line from the back of the bike. i made that same mistake and ended up torquing my hanger the wrong way for weeks before someone at the shop set me straight.

My buddy in Chiang Mai swore by a $300 local SIM plan for remote work. It was a total waste.

@perez.barbara that sounds maddening. I'd grab a local prepaid eSIM from AIS or Dtac for like $10-$15, then refill as needed, runs solid for video calls.

Heard a firefighter talking about a call that really stuck with me

Respectfully disagree Mark. A camera shows you what's there, your eyes and hands will always miss things you can't reach.

Hit 500 rolls on my favorite camera and felt weirdly emotional

Oh wow, I actually read something about this! I saw a post where someone hit 1,000 shots on their Fuji and they baked a tiny cake for it, complete with a little candle shaped like a lens. I bet @the_jana would do something cute like that, haha. Honestly, I might just do a little happy dance when my camera hits 500, nothing too fancy though.

Always thought those little magnetized wire holders were a gimmick until a job in Boise last month.

Daniel had the same take until he needed to explain something complicated to his kid for school. I typed in a messy paragraph about photosynthesis and it spit out a simple explanation a 7 year old could follow. Saved me from giving a confusing lecture that would have ended in tears. It's not revolutionary but it handles those small annoying tasks well enough that I keep coming back.
