Shoutout to the old coworker who taught me the 5 minute rule

A buddy of mine swore by the two minute rule for years. He was always so smug about his empty inbox and perfectly organized todo list. Then one day he told me he spent an entire afternoon responding to some vendor about a minor billing error that could have waited a week. He realized he was just doing stuff to feel productive instead of actually being productive. Now he lets things sit for a day before touching them unless they're actually on fire. It's funny how much peace of mind you get from just ignoring the small stuff until it actually becomes important.

I compared reading on a tablet to physical books and one side won hands down

Man, I feel that - I once read half a Stephen King novel sitting in a diner with the jukebox blaring and a fly buzzing around my coffee.

Warning: That cheap seaming tape from BigBox Hardware will ruin your day

Bit dramatic, it's just tape not a foundation issue.

Warning: That $200 drone I bought on a whim is now a tree ornament

Haha, "tree ornament" is the perfect way to put it. One angle I never see people talk about is how these things mess with local wildlife. I let my buddy fly his over a pond near my house and a great blue heron went ballistic, swooped right at it. Luckily he pulled up in time but I bet there's a lot of drones that end up as bird snacks or tangled up in nests. Birds see them as these giant angry insects and it stresses them out way more than people realize. Did you ever check if that juniper had any nests in it before you flew?

Update: I saw a huge difference in plank cupping after switching from a 6-mil to a 10-mil vapor barrier on a slab job.

Nodding along with @the_michael on this one. The thickness really does make or break it because thin barriers can't handle the slab moving under temperature changes. My neighbor went with 6-mil plastic sheeting and within a year you could see every crack and uneven spot through his tiles. He had to rip it all out and start fresh with 10-mil and a proper underlayment. It's one of those things where spending an extra $40 on material saves you from a $400 redo later. Have you tried looking at the fiberglass reinforced ones, or do you prefer the straight plastic sheeting?
