Everyone in this group pushes the 20 minute power nap, but last Tuesday I set my alarm for 20 minutes on the couch in my garage and woke up feeling like I got hit by a truck. I was groggy for a full hour and nearly cross threaded a fitting on a water heater because my hands felt slow. So I tried 35 minutes instead with a thin wool blanket instead of my heavy quilt, and I woke up clear headed with no headache. The trick for me is a lighter blanket so I do not oversleep into deep sleep, plus setting the alarm across the room so I have to stand up. Anyone else find that longer naps beat the 20 minute rule, or is it just me?
