inTalked to a studio engineer about desk height and now I'm remeasuring everything
100 degrees sounds weird but it kinda makes sense. Your body isn't built to sit at perfect right angles all day, so a little open in the elbows keeps you from hunching. If your shoulders stopped creeping up then you already found your answer.

inMy $25 helicoid grease kit beat a full CLA for this old Pentax
Wow, that's a huge difference for just 25 bucks. So was it the damping that changed, or the actual smoothness of the turn? I ask because my Helios 44-2 feels gritty in one spot no matter how much I clean the threads. Did you have to redo the shims when you swapped greases, or just wipe the old junk off and regrease? I keep reading that shims control the feel way more than the grease does, but your result kinda says otherwise.

inThe auto-brightness on my phone is smarter than I gave it credit for
MAN, that auto-brightness thing is a real game changer. My buddy Chris swore by manual control for years, always squinting at his screen half the day. He finally left it on auto during a road trip and the thing kept dimming like clockwork every time he went into a tunnel. He texted me later like "dude, it knows where I'm going before I do" and now he won't shut up about it. It honestly creeps me out a little how good the sensor gets at reading your day. Like, it figures out your exact coffee shop lighting and your car's tint level without you saying a word. Chris said he checked his battery stats and the screen was barely eating any power compared to before. People just hate giving up control, but the phone is basically learning your life one brightness adjustment at a time.
