Hot take: the 3pm crash isn't about lunch, it's about 7 hours of being awake
I read on a sleep doctor's site that the human body has a natural dip in energy about 7 to 8 hours after you wake up, no matter what you eat. So if you get up at 6am like me, that wall hits around 1 or 2pm, and it has almost nothing to do with that turkey sandwich. I tested it for two weeks, ate the same boring oatmeal lunch every day, and the slump came at the same time anyway. Now I just plan my nap for 1:30 and my whole afternoon makes sense. Did anyone else learn this the hard way, or did you all just know it was a body clock thing?
