Debate: did my AI training bug cost me 4 hours or was it actually 8?

I spent a whole Saturday trying to get my model to stop hallucinating dates, then realized the dataset had timestamps in two different formats. Does debugging the data count as AI work or is that just data entry, because I'm leaning toward the ladder.
