Paid $180 for a borescope and it caught a cracked turbine blade the $12,000 boroscope missed
The cheap USB one from Amazon with a 3.9mm head actually fit through the cooling holes on a PT6 last month in Wichita, and I found a crack the big shop scope could not see from the angle it was set at, so yeah, sometimes the little guy wins.
