Pro tip: the ramper at gate B12 in Tulsa told me my torque wrench was lying, and he was dead right
Last Thursday I was doing a nose gear check on a 737 at Tulsa International and a ramper walked by, pointed at my wrench, and asked when I last had it calibrated. I laughed it off, but he said his brother lost a job over a wrench that read 5 ft-lbs heavy, so I sent mine in. Turns out it was drifting 4 ft-lbs low, which is enough to matter on a lot more than I want to think about. How often do you all actually send yours out, or do you just trust the sticker?
