Talking to a pilot at O'Hare made me see our job totally different

He said 'you guys don't just fix planes, you sign my life insurance policy' and that hit hard because it's true, every signature is a real person trusting us, so how do you handle that pressure on a tough day?

Pressure's just part of the job description.

Remember that time my kid's soccer team needed one goal to tie? The goalie looked like he was gonna be sick... whole game came down to him. Pressure's weird like that, it can freeze you up or make you sharper. Guess it depends if you see the net or just the crowd.

Honestly, that pilot nailed it. On a rough day, I just go back to the book. Following the manual step by step turns that huge pressure into a simple checklist. It's not about the whole plane, just the next box to tick. Sounds boring, but it keeps the hands steady when your head's loud.
