That customer who asked me to mount their motion sensor upside down because 'it looks at the floor better'

I spent 45 minutes trying to explain why that would mess up the detection pattern before he just nodded and then flipped it himself the second I left his house in Oak Park last Tuesday, has anyone else dealt with someone who thinks they know the hardware better than the installer?

Man that's the worst when they just nod and do it anyway. It's like people think flipping something upside down is some kind of universal trick for everything. I see this all the time with folks who refuse to read instructions for anything from furniture to phone chargers, they just assume they know better than the people who designed it. Makes you wonder how many broken gadgets and messed up setups are out there because someone thought they found a shortcut.

@michaela16, my neighbor flipped her smoke detector over and thought that solved the beeping.
