I was at the craft store last Tuesday and overheard a lady telling her friend 'just glue the rocks in, they'll stay put.' That got me thinking about how I kept killing my desk plants because the pots kept tipping over. So I went home and glued a layer of small pebbles into the bottom of a thrifted teacup I found for $1.50. Now my little succulent sits steady as a rock and I don't have dirt all over my keyboard anymore. Has anyone else tried gluing things into their pots to make them more stable?

My neighbor Bob saw me struggling with a floor pump at the curb and laughed. He said his old Silca pump from 1995 still works fine because he always oils the leather washer. I never even knew pumps needed maintenance like that. Made me wonder how many other bike tools I've been neglecting for years. Anyone else have a tool they never thought to maintain?

Hit my 100th hand forged hook today and it felt pretty good

Ive been working on making gate hooks and barn door hardware for about 8 months now. Today I finished my 100th one and it surprised me how far theyve come from the first few. The first hooks were all wonky with uneven curves and bad transitions. The last 20 or so have been way more consistent and I can feel the rhythm in my hammer strokes now. Did any of you notice a similar milestone where the numbers really clicked for you?

Swapped from a tiny desk to a butcher block countertop and my back finally stopped hurting

After 5 years hunched over a $30 foldable table, I grabbed a solid wood countertop slab from Home Depot for $120. Threw some $20 legs on it. The depth alone (25 inches vs 18) means my monitor is way farther back and my elbows actually rest on the desk now. No more hunching. Weird how spending less than a gaming chair fixed my posture.
