Finally beat the cold air leak in my 1982 bungalow near Red Deer
Tried sealing every window and door for 2 winters, but the basement office stayed freezing. Turns out the return air vent was pulling cold air straight from the crawlspace, one can of spray foam and a new vent cover fixed it. Anyone else found weird airflow paths in older Alberta homes?
My dad had a 1960s place outside Lethbridge that did the same thing. The furnace was sucking cold air through the laundry room vent. Took us three years to figure that one out. Good on you for catching it, that crawlspace draft is miserable.
