Rant: Why I stopped chasing new builders and went with a 1980s fixer in Calgary
For years I only looked at brand new infills in the inner city, spending weekends touring show homes in the southeast. Last spring I bought a 1982 bungalow in Braeside for $430k and put $25k into the furnace, windows, and electrical instead. Anyone else find that older builds with good bones beat the cookie-cutter warranty headaches, or am I just lucky so far?
