Thought a home inspector was just gonna pocket my $450, then he found the furnace vent taped shut with duct tape
Everyone told me inspectors in this city just walk around for two hours and cash the check, so I almost skipped it on the place I'm buying in Red Deer. He spent 20 minutes in the basement and pulled out his phone to show me a gas vent held together with duct tape and a prayer, which I never would've caught. Now I'm wondering what other stuff I've been nodding along to without actually looking, anyone got a checklist they actually trust?
