Hot take: a $4 tube of caulk saved me $700 on a swamp cooler repair
My old swamp cooler was leaking down the side of the house onto my stucco for about 2 weeks, and the first company I called quoted $700 to swap the whole pan. I grabbed a $4 tube of silicone sealant from the hardware store on San Mateo, dried the seam out with a hair dryer, and ran a fresh bead along the cracked edge. Been 3 weeks now and not a single drip, so has anyone else fixed a cooler leak this cheap or am I just waiting for it to bite me in July?
