Pro tip: the city permit office held up my backyard shed for 9 weeks over one line on the plot plan
Everyone says just pull the permit and get on with it, but that was the easy part for me, it was the paperwork after that killed me. My lot in the NE heights has a weird easement, and the reviewer flagged my plot plan 3 separate times because the shed was drawn 18 inches too close to a line I didn't even know was there. It took 9 weeks and two trips down to the Plaza del Sol building to finally get signed off, way longer than actually building the thing. If you're putting up anything over 120 sq ft, measure your setbacks twice and call the planning line before you draw anything up. Did anyone else get stuck in review hell longer than the actual project?
