Warning: spent $60 on a beat-up Nikkormat FT2 at a flea market in Tucson and the meter was dead
The seller swore the needle moved but it just twitched from the bump of me holding it, so I bought it anyway because the body looked clean. Turned out the CdS cell was shot and a repair quote came back at $95, more than I paid for the camera. Maybe just bring a working battery and a flashlight to check the meter next time, or skip meter bodies at flea markets altogether. Anyone have luck finding cheap repair folks for old Nikon glass, or should I just shoot it meterless?
